We offer a variety of multidisciplinary courses exploring the past, present and future of Native Americans, including experiential classes locally and as far away as Hawaii.

For spring 2012 there are twelve courses being offered, including Cultural Anthropology (with 7 sections), Race & Ethnicity, Multicultural Teaching and Learning in the Southwest, Mesoamerican Archaeology, and more! The gateway class for the minor is North American Indians, taught by Hollie Kulago (Diné). During the May summer session 2012, Service Learning in Native America will be taught, where students travel to and work at the Onondaga and Cayuga Nations (students from last year pictured here with Alf Jacques at his lacrosse stick workshop at Onondaga). The 3 week field class in Hawaii (ANTH 38100), focused on the issues facing Native Hawaiians, will be offered Jan. 2013, with ANTH 28100 (Anthropology of Hawaii) as the pre-req course, offered Fall 2012.
