Be sure to check your IC email for package notifications and pick up your packages before you leave for the Thanksgiving break.

When was the last time that you checked your mail box? Friends, family and churches/synagogues enjoy sending surprise gift packages. There may be one waiting for you at your mail room. Don’t let it be returned to the sender “unclaimed.” It is recommended that you should be checking your mail box once a week and picking up mail and packages that have been sent to the mail room that serves your residence hall.  

Myth- All packages receive email notifications.
Fact- Only packages sent with a paid tracking number receive email notifications except at certain times of the semester. (right before and during breaks)

Myth-Packages are held indefinitely.
Fact-Packages with tracking numbers receive an initial email notification followed by 3 subsequent card notices every 3 days afterwards and then a final email reminder of the package’s return date.
Fact-Packages sent to the mail rooms receive 3 card notices every 3-5 days and then one final email reminder of the package’s return date.

Lock and key issues should be directed to the area office that serves your residence hall, located in either Eastman Hall or Terrace 7.
