Do you play an orchestral instrument? Sign-up for Sinfonietta!!Contributed by James Mick on 11/17/11 Sinfonietta is an all-campus symphony orchestra open to all IC students who perform orchestral instruments. No audition required! The Ithaca College Sinfonietta aims to provide an environment in which instrumental musicians can focus on enjoying orchestral music and gaining orchestral playing experience without necessarily being music majors. The repertoire is primarily based on full and string orchestra literature ranging from grade III to VI, and is selected to provide an enriching opportunity for a range of performers who wish to experience both musical growth and enjoyment. Sinfonietta rehearses Mondays from 6:00-7:50pm and performs one concert at the end of each semester. Members can enroll for 0, .5, or 1 credit hour -- MUNM 10304. If you are interested in learning more about the ensemble, email Professor Mick at jmick@ithaca.edu or attend our upcoming concert on Wednesday, Nov. 30 in Ford Hall to enjoy works by Berlioz, Bizet, Copland, and Warlock.
