Please join us on Thursday December 1st at 7 p.m. in Emerson Suites A for a student-run and led identity panel that focuses on the experience of coming into a critical consciousness of race, gender, sexuality and other intersecting identities in college’s educational and social environments.

One of the main goals of the identity panel is to illustrate how the absence of an Asian American Studies program at Ithaca College not only disempowers Asian American students and renders them invisible, but that this curricular silence commits a disservice to students and faculty from all backgrounds.

The overarching goal of the identity panel is to reveal how these diverse personal and cultural histories, experiences, and struggles occur alongside each other and are, therefore, relevant to all individuals in society. We hope to challenge and dismantle the assumption that different racial identities (including whiteness), cultures, ethnicities, and genders exist separately as unrelated bodies.

Invite your friends to the facebook event! We hope to see you there!
