Also, check out Type or Tweet -- a lively event designed to commemorate the civil rights struggles of the 1960s while celebrating our progress as a society. Students, staff, faculty, and community members will have the opportunity to express themselves using words, much like MLK, Jr. did in his letter from Birmingham Jail. The event, on Saturday, January 28 in IC Square, will span generations, from typewriters to twitter accounts. Music and food will add to the lively atmosphere of this event! ----- The MLK Week planning committee has put together a week of great events surrounding the 2012 MLK Week theme: A New Definition of Greatness. “If you want to be great – wonderful. But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. That’s a new definition of greatness…it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from the “Drum Major Instinct" sermon, given on February 4, 1968 For more information, visit www.ithaca.edu/mlkweek Monday, January 23 Saturday, January 28
