Dan Heffner '78, producer of the SAW franchise will host an open student session on Friday, February 10 at 4 p.m. in Park Auditorium. He will talk about his time at IC, his career path, and show clips from his upcoming projects: "Knig

Heffner’s career began as a Stage Manager and Production Assistant on the Academy Award winning film "Kramer vs. Kramer.” After moving to Los Angeles, he worked on films such films as "An Officer and a Gentleman," "Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip," and the critically acclaimed "The Big Chill." His executive career began in August 1985, when he was selected to be the first Production Executive for the newly restructured film division of the Walt Disney Studios. In this capacity he was instrumental in the rebuilding of the studios feature production division, serving on the studios New Technologies and Facilities Expansion committees.

As a Production Executive, Heffner oversaw the production of many projects, including "The Color of Money,” "Adventures in Babysitting," and "Three Men and a Baby." Heffner worked on the Saw franchise and is currently in development for Serendipity Productions, Inc. as Producer on “The Devil Takes Tomorrow,” “Torture,” “The Prince Test,” “Hollywood Ending,” “SandBox,” “Young Van Helsing,” and “The Iron Will of Shoeshine Cats.”
