CANTUS will also present a workshop at 4pm that afternoon demonstrating their process as a chamber vocal ensemble, discussing issues such as vocal technique, balancing solo vs. ensemble singing, the elements of engaging performance as well as our collaborative process as a vocal ensemble without conductor. This session is for Ithaca College students, please take advantage of it! The Rochester Philharmonic will present a concert here on Sunday, February 12 at 3pm. The program includes Strauss’s Don Juan and excerpts from Der Rosenkavalier (with vocal soloists), along with music of Ithaca’s own Roberto Sierra and Tanaka. This rare opportunity to hear a professional full symphony sized orchestra in Ford Hall should not be missed! A limited number of complimentary student tickets will be available in the music office beginning on Monday, February 6. We encourage students unable to get comps to take advantage of the $10 student price (general public tickets are $25) – available at the door, cash or credit card.
