On January 28, 2012, Leigh Ann Vaughn presented research done with her Social Judgment Research Team at the annual convention of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology in San Diego, CA.

Her coauthors on this poster were Ellen O'Malley ('11), Abigail Dubovi ('11), Molly Saldo ('12), Ashley Ellenberger ('12), and Arielle Manganiello ('12).  The title of this presentation was "'That Riley': Regulatory fit, metacognition, and target likeability interact to affect impression formation." This research was about how people form first impressions. Results showed that when people are thinking about what their own thoughts about someone mean (that is, when they are engaging in metacognition), their first impressions of this person are more influenced by their own transient moods.
