February Work/Life Line: Prevention is the Best DetectionContributed by Alison Bowman on 02/13/12
Each year, millions of Americans choose to skip routine physical examinations. Skipping these examinations allows for preventable diseases to end hundreds of thousands of lives. Healthy check-ups are essential for us to routinely attend. It may feel like a burden but it just takes one moment to discover a different pattern or major concern with your body and health by your physician. Think about it and take the appropriate actions. Treating a disease in its earliest stages is easier than combating an advanced disease which may be impossible to cure. Learn more about how you can prevent your body from harm. Learn more about Preventive Health Care through the INS Website. http://www.insweb.com/health-insurance/preventive-care-health-insurance.html Don’t forget to come and learn about Preventive Care on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 11:00am-12:00pm in the Peggy R. Williams Center, HR Conference Room GL-52. We’ll have Denise Dolinsky from Aetna teach us the importance of preventive care and what it is all about. RSVPs are appreciated to 4-8000 or e-mail benefits@ithaca.edu. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Alison Bowman in Human Resources at abowman@ithaca.edu or x4-8000. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. Work/Life: We believe in the integration of work and life outside of work. |
