Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy Amy Gerney has published a chapter titled "Using Online Social Media to Facilitate Clinical Reasoning in Entry Level Occupational Therapy Students" in the book "Designing Problem-Driven Instruction with Online Social Media".

The chapter explores the use of a course management system interactively to facilitate the development of an occupational therapy assessment, interpretation of the results, and the formulation of an intervention plan as an example of a formative assignment where students are guided through the process of clinical reasoning online.

The books co-author is Dr. Marlene Morgan, OTR/L of the University of Scranton. The book is edited by Kay Seo, Debra Pellegrino, and Chalee Engelhard and is published by Information Age Publishing of Charlotte.
