Acting the Classics

Contributed by Greg Bostwick on 02/24/12

The students of the Styles of Acting class would like to invite you over to the house.  The House of Atreus, that is.

On Tuesday February 28 at 1:30 p.m. in Studio 4 of Dillingham Center, students will perform individual speeches by several characters from Greek tragedy.  You will hear tales of rulers and the ruled, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. On the program will be the Trojan War and its aftermath, as well as the fall of the Houses of Atreus and Oedipus. Students will also perform, as a group, one of the choruses from Sophocles' Antigone.

The presentation is free and will last for about 50 minutes.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Greg Bostwick at gbostwick@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3919. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
