Are you eager to do something fun with your Thursday night? What better way to spend your Thursday night than in Textor 101 at 7pm learning about the portrayal of women in the media? As a collaboration with Sister 2 Sister and Latinos Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority Inc., IC Human Rights will be hosting the documentary, Miss Representation, by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and aired on The Oprah Winfrey Network. The film explores how the media’s misrepresentations of women have led to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence. If you'd like to learn more about human rights issues or to hear about other events the club will be putting on this semester, please email us at ichumanrights@gmail.com for more information. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Jennifer Segal at jsegal1@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
IC Human Rights meets Thursdays at 7:30pm in Friends 207!
