This Thursday, come see a wonderful film marking the one year anniversary of the tsunami in Japan and the role that the cherry blossom plays in its resilience over time.

REACT to FILM aims to expose, engage, and inspire you through social issue documentary films.

This special film screening of Oscar Nominated "The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom" will take place at Ithaca College and at two dozen other campuses across the country this March to mark the one year anniversary of the Mar. 11, 2011 Tsunami in Japan and to drive awareness and action around Tsunami relief efforts.

Synopsis: Survivors in the areas hardest hit by Japan's recent tsunami find the courage to revive and rebuild as cherry blossom season begins.

A stunning visual poem about the ephemeral nature of life and the healing power of Japan's most beloved flower.

Directed by Academy Award Nominated filmmaker Lucy Walker (Waste Land), featuring photography by Aaron Phillips and music by Moby.
