Thursdays at the Handwerker: “Scattered Village: Traces of the Ancestor in African American Literature and Film”Contributed by Mara Baldwin on 03/06/12 The Handwerker Gallery is pleased to be hosting a talk by Shauna Morgan Kirlew, predoctoral diversity fellow of the English Department at Ithaca College, titled “Scattered Village: Traces of the Ancestor in African American Literature and Film” on Thursday, March 8, at 6.00 p.m.. Kirlew’s talk will be coinciding with and relating to the exhibition Voices: Truth, Identity, and Art from Africa, on display at the Handwerker Gallery through April 5. All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.; Thursday, 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.; and weekends, noon to 5.00 p.m.. The gallery is closed to the public on Tuesdays unless otherwise specified for an event but can accommodate group or class visits by appointment.
