Nate Miner, Sound Recording Technology Student, Releases Album with Band, Underwater TigerContributed by Molly O'Shea Polk on 03/18/12
The album was recorded at Pyramid Sound Studios, owned by Ithaca College Assistant Professor and Director of Sound Recording Technology Alex Perialas, in Ithaca and mastered at Georgetown Masters in Nashville, Tenn. All of the songs on the album were penned by members of the group, said spokesman Matt Furstoss. "It's very melodic. We use a lot of vocal harmonies, three-part harmonies and intertwining vocal melodies," said Furstoss, who plays drums and sings lead vocals. "It's a catchy alternative rock album and we're pretty excited to get it out there. This is all original music. We wrote every lyric on that. All of us have contributed in different ways." Furstoss is joined by his brothers, Ronny and Anthony Furstoss, along with IC student Nate Miner and his brother Andrew. The band will do a series of short tours throughout the Northeast this spring and summer to promote the album, which will be available for sale locally and online. Two videos from the album have been posted on Youtube, and a third will be forthcoming, Furstoss said. The video featured by the Star Gazette is available here.
