New Ithaca College Affinity Group in Support of Disability AwarenessContributed by Irene Scott on 03/26/12 Affinity groups are designed to be a safe place where both staff and faculty may speak on common interests and provide an opportunity for one to seek and give support to one another. AccessibleIC is a support/advocacy group for faculty and staff dedicated to promoting awareness, understanding, and acceptance of persons with disabilities at Ithaca College. Our first meeting will be a planning session, to discuss the nature of the group and to decide on topics for future meetings. Join us on April 12 from noon to 1:00pm in the lower level of the Peggy Ryan Williams Center in the HR Mini Conference Room. Feel free to bring your lunch; beverages and snacks will be provided! Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Irene Scott at iscott@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1467. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
