On April 30th, Information Technology Services will begin deploying McAfee VirusScan 8.8 for Windows computers. The installation will happen automatically starting Monday, April 30th about 15 minutes after the computer is booted up. During the installation, you may see various Windows Security alerts indicating that antivirus software is out of date or missing. The alerts should clear after a few minutes. If the alerts do not clear within 5 minutes, please save your work and reboot. The installation will start again about 15 minutes after reboot, and should complete successfully. Firefox users will see an Add-on message about "IDS_SS_NAME IDS_SS_VERSION" at the next launch of Firefox (check "Allow this installation" and click Continue). ITS Helpdesk |
