On behalf of the Student Affairs and Campus Life Staff Development Committee, we would like to recognize five members of the Division of Student Affairs staff that attended the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Convention in Louisville, KY March 24-28, 2012.

Tiffani Ziemann, Area Coordinator for Residential Life, was named the Chair of the Commission for Student Conduct and Legal Issues.  As chair of this commission, Ziemann will be providing resources and opportunities for colleagues in student conduct across the country.

Three representatives from the Division served as workshop presenters. Jen Walsh, Program Coordinator for Student Leadership and Involvement, presented a workshop entitled: “Navigating the Quarter Life Crisis”.  Jen’s program was selected as the top program at the College Student Personnel Association of New York State (CSPA-NYS) conference in October 2011.  For that honor, Jen’s program was put forward to the National Convention and her conference registration was paid for by CSPA-NYS.  Jen’s program was attended by more than 140 eager participants.

Patrick Walsh, Resident Director, and Doreen Hettich-Atkins, Senior Assistant to the Vice President, co-presented a program entitled: “Common Cents:  Transitioning to a Culture of Financial Success”.  This presentation was also well-attended by conference attendees.

Additionally, Wando Holt, Resident Director, attended the conference and served as a full-time volunteer in Career Central at Convention (C3).  C3 provides services to employers and job seekers including position listings, interview scheduling, workshops, mock interviewing and resume reviews.
