Silvia Magana, a junior Integrated Marketing Communications major, was recently awarded The Home Depot Most Promising Minority Students Scholarship.

Upon accepting the award, Magana stated: "I am really appreciative for AAF and Home Depot recognizing the minority community, especially in the advertising and marketing field. I feel really lucky to be a part of the Park School community. I'm thankful for everything I have learned and will continue to learn. I'm very excited to see minority students, especially from the Hispanic community, being recognized in the industry. I feel very fortunate for all the support from family, professors, and friends."

With the support of The Home Depot, the American Advertising Federation (AAF)'s Mosaic Center on Multiculturalism has awarded fourteen $5,000 scholarships to deserving minority students majoring in advertising, marketing or communications. As college sophomores and juniors, these students have exhibited the potential to become one of AAF's Most Promising Minority Students by their senior year.

As the nation’s oldest national advertising trade association, the AAF represents all facets of the advertising industry and acts as the "Unifying Voice for Advertising." Based in Washington, D.C., the AAF also has 15 district operations, each located in and representing a different region of the nation. The AAF’s membership is comprised of nearly 100 blue chip corporate members comprising the nation’s leading advertisers, advertising agencies, and media companies; a national network of nearly 200 local federations, representing 40,000 advertising professionals, located in ad communities across the country; and more than 200 AAF college chapters, with over 6,500 student members.
