Celebrate the 15th annual James J. Whalen Academic Symposium by attending one or more of the 40+ sessions of student presentations and performances next Wednesday, April 11th, from 9:30 AM - 3:45 PM in the Campus Center.

The Symposium will feature over 100 presentations of research, creative writing, musical performance, and more, representing all disciplines, including the following selections:

  • Defined by Our DNA: Elements of Posthumanism in Canonical and Young Adult Dystopian Fiction by Adrienne Petro;
  • Forced to the Margins: Haitians in the Dominican Republic by Natalie Bell, Shaunice Phillips and Ellis Williams;
  • The Coach, Parent, Athlete Triad: The Motivational Climate and Participation in Youth Sports by Dana Shannon;
  • Verbal and Behavioral Messages about Gender, Weight, Appearance, Race and Social Class on TV Sitcoms by Jessica Weintraub and Shavante Dickey; and
  • The Student Debt Crisis by Tracy Rivas.
