Peace Corps Information Session Thursday 4/19 in Career ServicesContributed by Kristin LiBritz on 04/17/12 Join Career Services on Thursday as we welcome the Peace Corps to campus for a career information session. Since 1961, the Peace Corps has shared with the world America's most precious resource: its people. Corps members serve in 76 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, the Pacific Islands and the Middle East. Peace Corps Volunteers live, learn, and work with a community overseas for 27 months, providing technical assistance in six program areas: education, youth and community development, health, business and information and communications technology, agriculture, and environment. Coming from all walks of life and representing the rich diversity of the American people, volunteers bring their skills and life experiences to where they are needed most. Peace Corps volunteers receive financial and medical benefit packages. All majors are welcome to apply and applications should be submitted a year in advance of availability date. Students studying education, English, natural or environmental sciences, health education (or related disciplines) and business are encouraged to apply. Learn more from the Peace Corps recruiter during an information session on Thursday, April 19 in Career Services at 12:15pm. Reserve your seat for this information session using your eRecruiting account. Reservations are only possible through midnight April 18, however walk-ins will be invited to participate on a space-available basis. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Kristin LiBritz at klibritz@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3365. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
