I worked at IC as Leslie's administrative assistant until 2007 when I retired. She was an amazing woman who changed the lives of many students who came to the Office of Disability Services. Her laughter in any situation, her caring, her love for the students and their needs can never be replaced. She and I became close friends over the years and after my retirement. She will be sorely missed by so many. The College has lost a great asset. RIP Leslie. We will all miss you so much.

I was very saddened to hear of Leslie's passing. I did not know her well but worked together with her through the years with office furnishings.
Additionally, many years ago she sponsored a "Math for the Numerically Challenged" class which was composed of mostly older women, like me, who never really did well in math for whatever their reasons. She made it fun, enlightening, low-key and I really learned something about math, finally! I know she will be greatly missed by all her friends, the IC Community and certainly all the students she helped throughout the years. It was always a pleasure to work with Leslie. Always a smile and ready to assist in any way possible. She assisted many of my students and helped me greatly in the process as well. I can attest to her caring and impact on the lives of many IC alum.
The students and I will miss you, and though IC is a wonderplace to be......I'm confident you are in a better place, --Gary |
