Anthropology's Michael Malpass was invited to present a paper at Colgate University on April 13, dedicated to the theme, "Stories, Symbols, and Strings: A Symposium on State Power in the Ancient Andes.”
Michael's talk, “Provincial Inka: Local Reactions to Imperial Control,” explored ways that the Inka Empire used a flexible means of governing their conquered people that incorporated local leaders into their decimal bureaucracy.
