History Students Present Research at Phi Alpha Theta Conference in Buffalo -- Jessica Mortellaro Wins Award.Contributed by Matthew Klemm on 04/18/12 History Megan Gaul, Meghan Rindfleisch, Deanna Hill, and Jessica Mortellaro presented their research at the Phi Alpha Theta History honor society conference at Canisius College in Buffalo on Saturday, April 14. Mortellaro's paper, "Illuminating the Dark Ages: An Analysis of John of Salisbury's Policraticus and the Rise of Political Thought in the Twelfth Century," won one of the awards for best papers, and all papers were very well received. Others presented the following research: Gaul, "The Ideal Soviet Woman in the USSR under Lenin and Stalin" Rindfleisch, "The Greatest Social Evil: Women, Morality, and Sexuality in Victorian Britain during the Reign of the Contagious Diseases Act, 1864-1886. Hill, "The Treatment of Lepers during the High Middle Ages: Persecution or Charity?"
