Keep your ensemble chops in shape this Summer by participating in a unique learning environment where undergraduates and graduate students perform side-by-side, working on quality repertoire, and keeping ensemble skills sharp.

Former Assistant Professor of Music Education at Ithaca College and current Director of Choral Activities at Saranac Lake (NY) High School, Drew Benware will return this coming Summer to the Summer Graduate School Faculty at IC, conducting the Summer Grad Band and Summer Grad Choir.

Both the Summer Choir and Summer Band are nice, low-stress ways to keep your ensemble chops in shape while having a fulfilling musical experience. If you are a music student at IC planning on staying in Ithaca this summer, please consider joining. The commitment is minimal (2 hour-and-a-half rehearsals each week from 5:15-6:45 from July 2nd until August 3rd with one culminating concert) and the rewards can be great! While you may opt to take the course for credit (and pay for the opportunity), there are plenty of undergraduates, and graduates alike, who prefer to simply sit in and take advantage of this free opportunity!

Should you choose to participate, or even desire more information about the ensembles, please send a reply to Prof. Benware at abenware@ithaca.edu, detailing your name, year, and instrument or voice type so that repertoire selections can begin to take shape.
