The end of the semester is in sight... which means you'll be moving out sooner than you know it. Help us reduce the amount of waste that heads to the landfill from Ithaca College! Once again, Take It Or Leave It (TIOLI) bins will be in the lounges in the dorms during all of finals week for you to donate whatever you don't want that's in usable condition rather than throwing it in the dumpster before you move out. You can also take anything you like from the bins! One (wo)man's trash is another (wo)man's treasure! TIOLI is a program of REMP and ICES (the Resource and Environmental Management Program and the IC Environmental Society). The TIOLI room in Clarke Hall will be open by appointment only during finals and Senior Week - just use the bin in your lounge. However, if you need to get in the TIOLI room for any reason, email irecycle@ithaca.edu to set up a time, or check our Facebook page for updates. Live off campus? The Student ReUse Council, comprised of students from IC, Cornell, TC3, and community members, is rolling out the Think Twice campaign - encouraging students to Think Twice before you throw it away! If you live off campus, you can donate your unwanted items to Finger Lakes ReUse - and can even get them picked up right from your house! Just fill out this form. You can also try selling your stuff at some locations in town: here are some ideas. Protip: Try to donate your stuff before all of a sudden you're frantically packing and moving out and trying to shove things into your parents' car. Trust us, it'll save everyone a lot of trouble. Feel free to email irecycle@ithaca.edu with any questions. |
