Three Ithaca College students, Ranu Nath, Sarah Scott, and Sarah Singer, presented at the American Academy of Religion and Eastern International Regional Meeting at the University of Waterloo, Canada, on May 4 and May 5.

Ranu Nath's paper, co-written with Dr. Rachel Wagner, was titled: "Us versus Them: Gamer Theology and Abrahamic Traditions," and was also a result of an Emerson Humanities Collaborative project this past semester. Sarah Singer's paper was titled "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Science Fiction and an Otherworldly Hope for Home" and was also a Whalen presentation, as well as a product of Sarah's independent work in Fall 2011 in the International Scholarly Conversation Honors Seminar.  Sarah Scott's paper was co-written with Dr. Rachel Wagner and was titled "Broken Body, Virtual Body: Cyberfeminism and the Changing Goddess." Sarah Scott's paper grew out of an independent study this past semester. The final product will appear as a co-authored essay in a book of essays by prominent feminists called "Feminism in the 21st Century," expected in 2013 with Routledge. The trip was co-funded by the School of Humanities and Sciences Educational Grant Initiative conference funds and by the Provost's Office.
