Massachusetts Humanities Foundation (Mass Humanities) recently awarded $4,000 to Park Productions to support Elizabeth Bishop and the Art of Losing, a feature documentary directed by Associate Professor John Scott.

Park Productions, a video production unit housed in the Roy H. Park School of Communications and part of the Park Media Lab, provides students with real-world experience through a variety of projects.

Elizabeth Bishop and the Art of Losing is a feature documentary with an interactive social media component about the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Elizabeth Bishop.

The project proposal received the top rating from outside media consultants during the deliberation process. Carol Jennings, director of the Park Media Lab, several faculty from Ithaca College, and faculty from other universities are involved in the project.

Mass Humanities supports programs that use history, literature, philosophy, and the other humanities disciplines to enhance and improve civic life throughout the Commonwealth.
