Matthew Klemm, Assistant Professor in the Department of History, presented the paper, "Medical Theory and the Animal Soul, ca. 1300," at the annual Symposium of the International Medieval Society-Paris: Human/Animal, June 28 in Paris, France.

The conference addressed the relationship between humans and animals in all aspects of medieval life. Klemm's paper considered the ways that animal behavior was analyzed by medieval physicians in order to better understand humans.
