On Tuesday September 11, 2012 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in Textor 102, the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance and the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute will co-present a live music performance and 'Stroke of Genius' film documentary.

The film, directed by Bahman Soltani, is an inspiring look at how Dan Mountain, a successful advertising writer from Venice Beach, California, turned his massive stroke into blessings for his community, his family, and himself. He wrote poetry about his experience which his friend, singer songwriter, Marc Black, put to music and recorded with help from Art Garfunkel, John Sebastian, The Dixie Hummingbirds, and Steve Gadd, among others.

Marc will perform songs off the CD, live, before introducing the 'Stroke of Genius' documentary. Following the film, Marc Black and a panel of IC faculty will hold a question and answer session.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Yvonne Rogalski at yrogalski@ithaca.edu or 607-274-3430. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
