Dr. Donathan Brown, Communication Studies (H&S), to Speak about US Presidency and Immigration at International Conference in PolandContributed by Laurie Arliss on 08/23/12 Donathan Brown (Communication Studies) has been invited to speak at Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland) in October. The university will host an international conference focused on "2012 Presidential Elections in the United States: Challenges and Expectations." Dr. Brown will deliver a paper entitled, "The Immigration Question in 2012: A Precis." Last July, Dr. Brown was interviewed about the same issue by Dennis Raimondi (KRUU FM radio) on "Speaking Freely with Dennis". Raimondi is a former member of the Dean's Council at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Dr. Brown is teaching an IC course this fall titled "Electing the President," where students will address many of the issues raised during the radio interview and in Dr. Brown's presentation in Krakow. Dr. Brown originally came to Ithaca College as a Predoctoral Diversity Fellow in the School of Humanities and Sciences. After finishing his dissertation at Texas A&M, he has published numerous articles and given several noteworthy presentations related to his work on communication, race, language, and public policy. He is currently as assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies. |
