Want to play in a symphony orchestra? Join Sinfonietta!!Contributed by James Mick on 08/23/12
The Ithaca College Sinfonietta is a symphony orchestra open to all students who play an orchestral instrument - strings, winds, and percussion. No audition is necessary! (Graduate students and faculty/staff are also welcome to join.) The Sinfonietta performs great music and gives a public concert each semester. Last year, we performed pieces by Mussorgsky, Copland, Saint-Saens, Grieg, and others. Sinfonietta rehearses Mondays from 6:00-7:50pm and can be taken for 0, .5, or 1 credit. If you would like more information about joining, please attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7:00pm in the Hockett Recital Hall (Whalen Center #3105).
