(downtown Ithaca: corner of Cayuga and Buffalo Streets)

Rain Location: Ford Hall, Whalen Center for Music

Join the Friends of Ithaca College in DeWitt Park for a rousing exploration of the American South. Conductor Stephen Peterson and the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble will perform a collection of music that captures the rich history and unique identity of the Southern states. Among the pieces will be "Cajun Folk Songs," "Dixieland Jamboree," and "King Cotton."

Family and friends are invited, too, and there'll be complimentary refreshments for everyone. Remember to bring a blanket or lawn chair!

The Founder's Day Concert in the Park commemorates Ithaca College's founding in 1892 as the Ithaca Conservatory of Music and the deep connection between the College and the Ithaca community ever since.

For more information about the concert, and requests for special needs, please contact Nancy Oliver at 274-3496 or noliver@ithaca.edu. You can learn more about the Friends of Ithaca College on their website.
