The Sustainability Café on Monday, October 8th will feature Dr. David Wolfe from the department of Horticulture at Cornell University exploring the question: “Ecosystem Vulnerabilities and Adaptation Strategies for a Changing Climate”.  The Sustainability Café will be held in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112 at 4:00PM in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.

Dr. David W. Wolfe is Professor of Plant and Soil Ecology in the Department of Horticulture at Cornell University, and a leading authority on climate change impacts on crops, soils, and ecosystems. He serves as co-chair of Cornell’s Climate Change Program Work Team, and is on the advisory board for the NY Water Resources Institute. He has co-authored past and current national impact assessments sponsored by the U.S. Global Change Research Program, and was lead author of both the ecosystems and agriculture chapters of the 2011 “ClimAID” report, which focuses on vulnerabilities and adaptation strategies for New York. He currently leads a $5M national USDA-funded project focused on new tools for farm management of carbon, nitrogen, and greenhouse gases. He is developing a new course for Spring 2012, titled “Climate Change and the Future of Food”.

This event is free and open to the public.
