Faculty Council is seeking a faculty member to serve as its representative on the Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee. The representative will fully participate in FHAC meetings and occasionally report to Faculty Council as needed. Members of the Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee must be tenured or have served more than five years as a full-time faculty member.

The FHAC meets on the first Wednesday of every month, from 3-5 PM.         .

Please submit nominations, including self-nominations, along with a very short statement to Peter Rothbart, Chair of Faculty Council at rothbart@ithaca.edu.

Description: Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee

The Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee is a standing committee of the Faculty Council.

It is composed of one faculty member from each of the five schools and one faculty member at large elected by the members of the Faculty Council for terms of two years; terms will be staggered to ensure continuity of membership. Members of the Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee must be tenured or have served more than five years as a full-time faculty member. The committee reviews and may initiate changes and amendments to the Faculty Handbook on behalf of the faculty and/or administration. The Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee will hold public hearings for the faculty in general prior to submission of changes/amendments. The Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee reports its actions to Faculty Council.
