Want to jump start your career in festivals, media, arts, music, event production, writing, marketing, film, video, new media, environmentalism,  creative industries without leaving campus?

Join us on Thursday, September 20 at 12:15 for an informational meeting describing internship and festival immersion opportunities  for students for the 2013 Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF)

The information meeting will be held in the Taughonnock Falls Room in Egbert Hall, 12: 15-1:05.

Patricia Zimmermann, codirector of FLEFF, will share the history of the festival, now in its 16th year. She will describe FLEFF’s various internship and immersion opportunities as well as answer questions about the festival, internships and FLEFF courses in this session. Jonathon Morello, assistant to the codirectors, will also be on hand to share his impressions and ideas about FLEFF.

Festival intern positions include Assistants, Team Leaders, Bloggers, and Interns.

All interns at all levels are required to register for a one-credit practicum. Selected bloggers will be required to register for a one-credit practicum focusing on training for festival blogging. Internships are competitive. Students with prior FLEFF internship experience or who have taken a FLEFF mini course will have priority.

Internships require an application which will be available online at the FLEFF website soon. Blogging applicants will also need to submit a 500 word maximum writing sample.

Applications are due Tuesday October 23 to Rosalie Fitzgerald, Special Assistant to the Assistant Provost, CHC 212. HARD COPY ONLY.

A new festival mini-course, Festivals: Politics and Practices in Creative Industries, will be launched in Spring 2013 as a Block II mini-course. The course is integrated with 2013 FLEFF programming. This course is suggested for students with no prior FLEFF experience as interns, students who have an interest in learning more about festivals as a vibrant driver of the creative economy and innovation, and students who prefer an immersion festival experience on the festival theme.

The 2013 FLEFF programming theme is MOBILITIES.
