Join AAA this Thursday at 7pm in Williams 323 to learn about the famous Angel and Ellis Island, the discrimination Asians experienced and had to over come in the process to become U.S. citizens and share your own experiences and stories. For many years, America has been called the land of immigrants. Whether it was you, your parents or your ancestors, people from across the world have been coming to the United States for centuries, making it one of the most ethnically and racially diverse countries today. This week Asian American Alliance presents Immigration Stories, where you'll learn about Ellis and Angel Island, the underlying discrimination that took place and share our own stories of what it took to enter the land of the 'free'. So come join us this Thursday at 7pm in our NEW meeting room in Williams 323. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Melanie Chu at mchu1@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
