If you gave to the United Way last year, please give again now. If you have not participated in the past, please find a way to give this year.

Your annual United Way pledge card will shortly be delivered through our campus mail system. Our campus contribution goal for this year is $65,000. In your pledge packet, you will find a letter from President Rochon and another from the campus committee with more information.

Last year, with nearly 20% of faculty and staff contributing, Ithaca College proudly raised over $60,000 for the United Way to distribute for the benefit of thousands of individuals in our local communities. Targeted areas include such efforts as Hunger and Food Security and Urgent Rx Prescription programs. 

Today, there are increasing requests for basic need services, even from households who have never before sought or considered seeking assistance. We will immediately reach our campus fundraising goal if each of us who contributed last year matches their pledge this year. But please consider increasing your giving by a modest 5%! 

Imagine what the result of an increase in our campus participation rate – and a modest increase in our individual giving amount - would achieve!

Remember that payroll deduction makes your giving even easier by spreading out your contribution over time. Think about it: if you buy just three fewer cups of coffee on your way to work each pay period and instead, opt to have that $5 deducted from your paycheck as a United Way donation, that simple choice becomes a $120-130 donation this year!

You have other choices as well about how to give to United Way. You may specify which particular organizations or programs receive all or part of your contribution - there are more than 40 programs and organizations locally that benefit from United Way support.  You can even have your campus donation go instead to the United Way in your home county, if you live outside Tompkins County.

Please think about adding your support to our campus fundraising campaign. Please complete your United Way pledge card and return it in the envelope provided through campus mail. All gifts are welcomed and appreciated and all donations are kept strictly confidential. A gift in any amount will result in an important positive impact for our neighbors and community members.
