Red Cross Helps Loved Ones Connect in Hurricane Aftermath

Students and other members of the Ithaca College community who may be concerned about the status of family members affected by Hurricane Sandy can turn to the American Red Cross for help.

The Red Cross Safe and Well website is a central location for people in disaster areas in the United States to register their current status, and for their loved ones to access that information.

To register on the secure and easy-to-use online tool, visit www.redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). The site also connects with the Twitter and Facebook accounts of users.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have additional tips on how to communicate during a natural disaster.
