Asma Barlas, professor and director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity, published an invited essay, "Teaching Islam in the West: That includes Australia, too!" in the November 2012 issue of *Dialogue Australasia Journal.*  The journal, which is meant for secondary school teachers, is "committed to improving the academic standards of Values, Philosophy and Religious Studies in Australian and New Zealand schools."
