Vote for IC More Than Me to win $1 Million this weekContributed by Grace Schroeder on 11/25/12 The More Than Me Foundation is in an online voting contest to win ONE MILLION DOLLARS from tomorrow Tuesday November 27th to next Tuesday December 4th and needs you to VOTE at MoreThanMe.org!!! There's a meeting tonight in Friends 201 from 8:30 to 9:30pm about it and everyone is welcome. IC More Than Me will be tabling outside Emerson Suites from 9am to 3pm every day this week and needs you to come stop by! Today there will be pre-voting where you can sign up to be reminded to vote, and then starting tomorrow the voting will begin! The More Than Me foundation was chosen along with 24 other non-profits by Chase Bank for the running to win $1 Million if they get the most online votes. It's free and takes only one minute, so we know that if everyone at Ithaca College does it and tells their friends and family to vote too, we can win this for our girls!!!
More Than Me is a non-profit that gets girls living in the slums of Liberia off the streets and into school. We work with community leaders to identify young girls at the highest risk of being sexually abused to ensure that education and opportunity, instead of exploitation and poverty, shape their lives. We personally keep track of all 108 students to know how they are doing academically and socially as well as their safety and life outside of school. Liberia is the second poorest country in the world where the highest reported crime in Liberia is rape of girls ages 10 to 14, and that is just what is being reported. Help change those statistics by voting to save another young girls life!
