In response to Israel’s most recent bombardment of the Gaza Strip, named "Operation Pillar of Defense," which left 172 Palestinians and six Israelis dead, the Ithaca College Students for Justice in Palestine will host a forum, Gaza-Strophe, Tuesday, November 4, 7:30pm in the Ithaca Falls room of the Student Activity Center.

To provide context for Israel’s military operation and the negotiated ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli government, the forum will screen the film Gaza-Strophe: The Day After, which documents the aftermath of the 2008-2009 Gaza assault titled "Operation Cast Lead" by the Israel Defense Forces. Gaza-Strophe, produced by French filmmakers Samir Abdallah and Kheridine Mabrouk, was released in 2011. Politics professor Beth Harris, who participated in a human rights delegation to Gaza in June 2012, will present an update and lead a discussion about U.S. and Israeli policies towards the Gaza Strip and their implications.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Ava Carmeli, ava.carmeli@gmail.com. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
