All students, faculty, staff are invited to participate in the annual MLK day celebration on Monday, January 21st to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This is the first Monday after break, so make sure you arrange your return trip back to campus to be back by the 21st! 

The MLK planning committee is proud to announce the 2013 MLK Week theme: Making a Career of Humanity.

“Make a career of humanity.  Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights.  You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.”

MLK Day events on Monday, January 21 will include:

  • Breakfast presentation honoring the 10th anniversary of the MLK Scholar Program
  • Educational sessions
  • Grab n' Go lunchtime films
  • Ithaca community celebration at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School
  • Careers of Humanity alumni panel
  • First-year MLK Scholars Presentation
  • School of Music MLK Celebration Concert

Ithaca College's MLK day of service will be Saturday, January 26th. Further information regarding volunteering and involvement on this day will be released soon.
