Ithaca College

Nicholas Walker, Associate Professor of Music at Ithaca College, gave recitals and masterclasses in Beijing, China at the China Conservatory of Music and at the Central Conservatory of Music.  Professors Song Yi and Dongwen Shen hosted The Premiere Cadenza Music International Double Bass Festival from November 23 - 27 at the the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, where Walker was recognized with a Certificate of The Medal of Honor and an Excellent Teacher Award.

Joined by 30 double bass professors from across China, Walker helped lead judging panels that heard more than 80 participants compete in four categories. The results were:     

Under 14 yrs.:

14 yrs -18 yrs.:
