Professor Barney Beins has authored two books in a seven-volume psychology handbook for which he was series editor.
 

He wrote Methods and Measurements about research methods and statistical approaches in psychological research. In addition, he co-authored Learning and Thinking about cognitive processes like problem solving, reasoning, language, and human and animal learning. His co-author on this volume was Chris Hakala of Western New England College.

The series, entitled Student Handbook to Psychology consists of seven volumes: Brain and Mind; Developmental Psychology; History, Perspectives, and Applications; Personality and Abnormal Psychology; Social Psychology; Methods and Measurements; and Learning and Thinking.

The series was published by Facts on File, a national publisher of print, eBooks, and online reference materials for the school and library market.
