Well, OK, so technically it’s not yet Christmas Eve, but this IS the last workday of the Fall semester, of December, of 2013, and, if you believe the whoohah about the Mayan calendar, perhaps this is even the last day of the world as we know it. But it is NOT [quite] the end of our Ithaca College United Way campaign. We had hoped to meet our fundraising goal by now, and we are within a hairs-breadth of achieving it. As of this afternoon, we stand at 96.4% of our goal, with $62,689 pledged toward our $65,000 campus goal. 271 members of our campus community have taken action so far – 61 one of them first-timers! If you were one of those good folks, thank you again! If you were not among those “early responders”, it’s not too late for you to participate! Before you leave your office for the break, PLEASE look for that envelope with the United Way logo in the upper left-hand corner, pull out the pledge form, fill it out, and drop it in the campus mail on your way out the door. Sure, we won’t get it until the new year starts now, but this way, you can leave for break knowing you did your part to help put us over the top this year. And more importantly, you can have the peace of mind this holiday season of knowing you took a positive step toward helping our neighbors in need in and around Tompkins County have a little brighter 2013. If you need to receive a replacement pledge packet, just contact Marian Brown to request one. Happy holidays and a happy new year! Now dash away, dash away, dash away all! |
