"I have a dream..." - Faculty - Join Your IC Community in Celebrating MLK Day!Contributed by Sarah Schupp on 01/15/13 Every January, the Ithaca College community celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr through a series of programs sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement & Multicultural Affairs.
We continue this tradition on Monday, January 21, 2013, when students, staff, faculty, and community members will honor Dr. King's work by coming together to discuss the relevance of his work today. The itinerary for MLK Day will go a little something like this..
8:30-10:00am: Breakfast presentation honoring the 10th anniversary of the MLK Scholar Program 10:00-11:30am: Educational sessions 11:30-1:30pm: Grab n' Go lunchtime films on campus 2:00-3:30pm: Educational Sessions 4:00-6:00pm: MLK Day Celebration Event, featuring the First-year MLK Scholars Presentation and aCareers of Humanity alumni panel (starting at 5pm) 7:30pm: School of Music MLK Celebration Concert Ithaca College's MLK day of service will be Saturday, January 26th. To learn more about the various services sites and sign up click here! Please consider this an amazing opportunity and MLK day will be a DAY ON! Not a DAY-OFF! Classes will begin on Tuesday the 22nd, so give your brain a head start with MLK Day! “Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights.
