The graduating class of Musical Theatre and Acting majors of the Department of Theatre Arts will present an afternoon of music on Sunday, January 27 at 4 PM in the Clark Theatre to benefit the residents of the Sakhi Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence in Kerala, India. Sakhi provides shelter for battered women, their children, and young victims of the sex trade in Kerala

Wheels for Women is a project started by Kathleen Mulligan and husband David Studwell after their visit to the Sakhi Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence in Kerala, India. Funds raised from the cabaret and raffle go towards the training and licensing of residents in auto rickshaw driving (like taxis in India)- offering these women a path to financial independence apart from their abusers. To date, Wheels for Women has purchased two brand new auto rickshaws for the shelter, and trained and licensed six residents as rickshaw drivers.

Suggested Donation: 10.00 adults, students 5.00

Raffle will also take place for a pair of season tickets to the Merry Go Round Theatre (a 600.00 value), tickets to the Kitchen and Hangar theatres, as well as a poster from the Broadway show "Newsies" signed by IC alums Ben Fankhauser, Jeremy Jordan, and the rest of the cast! Raffle tickets are 1.00 each or 6 for 5.00.
