On Wednesday, February 6, from 3–6 p.m., there will be an Open House to collect feedback from the campus community regarding the 39 recommendations developed for the college’s consideration by Huron Education, the consulting firm assisting us with the Effectiveness and Affordability Review.

This Open House will be held in Emerson Suites and all current faculty, staff, and students are welcome to stop by any time during the three-hour event. Stations will be set up for each of the seven recommendation themes: activity centralization, improved process efficiency, balancing cost and service, effective organizational alignment, employee benefits, student fees and new revenue sources.

At each station, faculty, staff, and students will have the opportunity to provide written feedback, which can be anonymous. Each station will have the slides from the Huron recommendations along with the official unit responses from each recommendation. One or more facilitators will be at each station to help collect your feedback, which will be shared along with the feedback collected online with the Institutional Effectiveness and Budget Committee (IEBC). There will also be laptop stations with access and support for navigating the recommendations on the Sakai website in the Emerson Lounge during the Open House.

Feedback can still be provided through Sakai through February 11, but this Open House offers an additional option for those who choose not to use Sakai or prefer the written, in-person method. Attendees may choose to post their comments at a station (anonymously or not) to further encourage dialogue for each recommendation. Members of the President’s Council (PC) and IEBC will be available for conversations as well.

In addition, beginning Wednesday, January 30, there will be drop boxes in Human Resources and at the Information Desk in the Campus Center where you can use this form, which is also available next to the boxes, to leave your feedback.

As of Monday morning, January 28, 787 individual users have logged in to the Sakai site to review the recommendations and official unit responses, and there have been approximately 150 comments posted in the associated discussion forums.
