Psychology students under the supervision of Prof. Nancy Rader invited to present at the Young Researchers Symposium at the APA convention in Hawaii this coming August.

A paper by Rebecca Post and Stephanie Miller, under the supervision of Prof. Nancy Rader, Psychology, has been selected for the Young Researchers Symposium at the APA convention in Hawaii in August. Only five papers nationally were selected for this symposium. Post and Miller's paper is titled, "Inside the Infant Mind: Pupil Dilation Reveals Attention Processing in Early Word Learning". Using technology that tracks eye movements and measures pupil size, their research shows how gestures mothers use in talking to infants support early
word learning by directing and enhancing attentional processes.
